State of Florida

• ATEN (http://www.aten.ocps.k12.fl.us)

The mission of the Assistive Technology Educational Network (ATEN) is to assist in the enhancement of student outcomes through the provision of information, training, and technical support in the area of assistive technology. ATEN provides services to students, family members, teachers, and other professionals throughout Florida's public school system. ATEN's professional staff includes educators, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists.

Abledata is a searchable database of assistive technology products, and companies which make and sell them.

• The Alliance for Technology Access (http://www.ataccess.org)

ATA is a network of community-based resource centers, developers and vendors dedicated to providing information and support services to children and adults with disabilities, and increasing their use of standard, assistive, and information technologies. Centers can be found all across the country

• CAST (http://www.cast.org)

CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to expand opportunities for people with disabilities through innovative multimedia computer technology. We pursue this mission through research, product development, and direct services.

• Closing The Gap (http://www.closingthegap.com)

CTG is an organization which promotes microcomputer technology for people with special needs, through a major annual conference, a periodical, and a resource directory.

• CSUN Center on Disabilities (http://www.csun.edu/cod)

The Center on Disabilities at CSUN (California State University at Northridge) provides support for its students with disabilities. It also stages a major annual conference on Technology and People with Disabilities.

•Microsoft's Accessibility and Disabilities Home Page (http://www.microsoft.com/enable/)

Features news and information about accessibility.  Visitors will find information on Microsoft accessibility products as well as links to resources and downlodable software.

•Apple Computer's Disability Home Page (http://www.apple.com/education/k12/disability/)

Provides information about Macintosh accessibility features as well as links to third party developers.

•Children's Software Revue (http://www.2childrenssoftware.com/childrenssoftware/)

This source book provides comprehensive coverage of the children's software market with 3,700 reviews and a searchable CD-ROM.

Curbcut.com is a gathering place for folks in wheelchairs and their friends who are looking for information and resources.

• EASI (http://www.isc.rit.edu/~easi)

EASI (EQUAL ACCESS TO SOFTWARE AND INFORMATION) is an affiliate of the American Association for Higher Education, dedicated to disseminating up-to-date information about access to computing and information technology for persons with disabilities.

• Family Guide to Assistive Technology (http://www.pluk.org/AT1.html)

PLUK (Parents, Let's Unite for Kids), the ATA center in Montana, has published their entire book on accessing Assistive Technology.
